I received a Batchelor's Degree from Florida State University in Fine Art in 1966 and somewhat later, a Master's Degree in Social Work also from FSU in Tallahassee Florida, but it wasn't until I retired from my job as a clinical social worker in 2000 that I began to paint full-time. I teach watercolor classes in Tallahassee at the Brush & Palette Studio and also workshops.
I like to try different media in new ways and thought I had a short attention span but now just say I am an experimental watermedia artist! I have continued to be interested in the wetlands and birds near my home in North Florida and these watery wind-swept places populate my paintings.
I exhibit frequently in area shows such as the Tallahassee Watercolor Society Members Exhibition and Tri-State Water-Media Exhibition, The Gadsden Arts Regional Exhibition in Quincy Florida and the Thomasville Cultural Center Summer Showcase, Thomasville, GA. I also exhibited in The Artists Limited of Tallahassee Exhibition, at the Apalachicola Museum of Art in Apalachicola, Florida, May 5 through July 17, 2007.
