Seven years after picking up my first paintbrush, I have learned a lot, painted a lot, and studied in watercolor workshops with some very talented internationally recognized artists.
Instead of a formal art education, I went directly into the family business, a weaving mill, where I designed fabrics and operated our dyehouse for over 30 years. Little did I know, I was learning and using the principles of design and color theory in my daily work.
Over the years my paintings have been selected for many juried shows and awards, including 12 national or international exhibitions in 2013. My work is included in private collections throughout the US, along with England, Sweden, and Belgium.
I’ve been involved with the San Diego Watercolor Society as President and in various Board positions for the past 6 years. I have a studio in Spanish Village Art Center at beautiful Balboa Park in San Diego.
The “paint what you love” philosophy has resulted in a multitude of animal-related pieces, and has now evolved into my Last Connection series. These paintings depict the incredible devotion that dogs offer to their homeless owners. Most of these people have lost the ability to connect with other human beings, and their dogs give them the emotional connection that we all need.
In all my work, I strive to show that special connection between people and animals. It’s love like no other!

Ankur Mishra, embodies a multifaceted personality. He excels in his line of work in computer programming & simultaneously is forging ahead in the field of art with his creative streak. He has not only exhibited his paintings at a very young age, but is into theatre & acting too. He has a number of short films to his credit as well as having played a variety of roles in several Hindi & English plays.

Artist Statement

Although I create many of my paintings in the studio, my favorite place to paint is outdoors. There I become one with nature, lost in the scenery and the painting process. This keeps my work fresh while providing new challenges, whether it is an inspiring location in a different country or dealing with the many elements of nature. On overseas trips, I oftentimes work in a small watercolor journal making notes in the margins and then create larger paintings back at my studio.

Teaching watercolor to adult students is my passion! Most have been waiting a long time to rekindle their lost love of art just as I did, and I take pleasure in watching them excel.

The luminosity of water media and the way colors mingle on the paper are what drew me to the mediums of watercolor, fluid acrylic and casein. My favorite ways to paint are by glazing (layering of colors) or by dropping color onto very wet paper, then spattering or dripping paint and salt to create texture in the original wash layer. I love color and strive for striking, sunlit images in most of my work. I enjoy working in a "series" of similar subjects or ideas, in a realistic manner. My subject matter rarely involves a figure, but often implies the human element.
“With few exceptions, when you see my work you know exactly what you are looking at”.

DEANNA JAUGSTETTER FINE ART BIO

Deanna Jaugstetter Fine Art (Facebook)
MY STORY
Creativity in many forms surrounded me as a young girl. My mother was a professional seamstress creating custom garments, using a variety of colorful fabrics. Uncles were engaged in professions that required skilled hands, furniture refinishing, repair of complex machinery, are two examples. In another vein, music filled my early life. Family members played piano, organ, harmonica, banjo, and clarinet. How this connects to my journey as an artist is not a straight line but I recognize that my exposure to these arts intersected with my own early interests and to my evolution as an artist
I began studying oil painting and watercolor painting in the mid 70’s with accomplished Atlanta artists. I created a small space to work in and was able to paint while my daughter was in school. I began selling some of my paintings and accepting commissions. During that time I was also studying interior design. To have additional income, I gathered all resources to start a successful 18 ½ year predominantly residential interior design business. Nine years ago, I made a decision to leave that passion for another one, painting full time. I threw myself into this completely, working at my craft, spending more and more time in a newly built out art studio. Learning from accomplished artists during 3-5 day workshops was instrumental in building my confidence in my work. Their words of instruction repeat themselves in my head while I paint.
MY WORK
I paint a wide variety of subjects, still life, landscape, animals, using both my own photographic references, live models, and still life set ups. As a child and even now, I cannot go through a day, be it sunny, or gray and moody, without stopping to observe the effects of the light on my surroundings. This practice serves me well when I am mixing all those puddles of paint on my palette. I begin my mixes with the basic four hues, blue, red, green, and yellow. The neutral support these four. Having learned the properties of a variety of media, oil, watercolor, acrylic, and ink, enables me to choose what I feel is the best media for a particular subject. To define my style is always difficult because if an artist is learning his/her work is always evolving. Currently, I am getting a better understanding of the art of abstract painting.
My love of drawing, inate sense of color, and experience designing spaces has certainly helped me build confidence in my work. Repetition , dedication, and desire to learn to see better have been the key to any success I have experienced. I have been told that my work evokes a sense of happiness. It pleases me to hear this type of reaction. My work is a culmination of memories plus life experiences. If I make an emotional connection on some level with those who view my work , this is a blessing to both of us.
RECENT AND CURRENT EXHIBITIONS
I encourage prospective clients to visit my home studio space in Marietta, Ga.

Deborah Rae Hall

Artistic Biography/Resume’ For Deborah Rae Hall

I graduated from the University Of South Alabama with a BS degree in Speech Pathology/Audiology/Education. I had two years of Creative writing courses before changing my major to Speech. I have always written stories and poetry. I taught and was a speech therapist to deaf and multiple handicapped children. Art allowed me to keep the attention of my easily distracted students.

I have painted with acrylic, oil, and pastels however watercolors have found a home with me. I love the movement of color and water on paper. My studio is located in my home, and most of my work is in private and personal collections. My paintings are also displayed in several Restaurants in Mobile, Alabama.

I have studied under Jim Conlon, for drawing and acryllic; Verna Bryant for oil, Chris Hartsfield, Wayne Spradley, Bill Morris, Corky Goldman, Judi Betts, Stan Miller, Don Taylor and Lian Quan Zhen for watercolor, and Val Webb (for drawing and illustrating) with colored pencils and watercolor.

Since 2011, I have been honored to have my watercolor paintings juried into the Maritime Exhibit at the Museum Of Mobile, Mobile Art Association Art Shows, Colors of the Coast Art Shows and Bay Rivers Art Guild’s members Judged Shows, Daphne Alabama Art Center, Alabama Watercolor Society state and National shows, Louisiana Watercolor Society Show, and the Georgia Watercolor Society Art Show and The Southern Watercolor Society Show. I am a member of Mobile Art Association, Watercolor and Graphic Arts Society of Mobile, Louisiana Watercolor Society, Georgia Watercolor Society, National Watercolor Society, and the Southern Watercolor Society. I was the first “Featured Artist”, at the Dauphin Island Heritage and Art Council. Several of my paintings have won: Honorable Mention, Certificate of Excellence, Third Place (with three different paintings), and Second Place.

Watercolor is a passion that has helped me to discover the artisan within my own soul. My true reward is the integrity of each painting. I continually take workshops and try new things. I have been blessed to glean from so many wonderful artists and hope I may help others seeking to grow in the arts.

I live in Mobile, Alabama with my husband of 44 years. We have one Son, Drew, a daughter in law and two adorable grand daughters. The four year old grand daughter is becoming quite the artist painting with her Nana (me)!

WE ARE "BRAVEHEART." WE ARE THE PHOENIX RISING.

“Masks and Mirrors - Explorations of Identity” honors the human spirit in all its colors, resiliency, and fortitude. Artist Elaine Weiner-Reed's work is an ongoing excavation into the psychology of relationships from the inside out. Her work focuses on unraveling the complexity and mystery of human emotion, choices, and behavior, featuring the individual within or outside of a group dynamic.

With an investigator’s precision and artist’s intuitive perspective, Weiner-Reed explores the energy, motivations, chemistry, and undercurrents between individuals. She examines the evolution of identity in all its layers - from glimpses in the mirror to introspection across time, highlighting facets of a character’s solitary existence within an increasingly globalized world. Weiner-Reed honors the individual spirit and personal history of different characters as they exist, survive, and interact, envisioning their stories as pictorial medleys evolving as their worlds turn. Monuments to life, her creations resurrect feelings of transcendence, mystery, and hope.

Elaine Weiner-Reed Asks: "If my works were songs or poetry, how would they sound to you?"

From the earliest age I can remember, I have been designing and creating. From painting, drawing and needlework, to creating home gardens and refining my culinary skills, I have always found a broad variety of ways to express my creativity.  After completing a Bachelor of Science degree in Environmental Design at Purdue University, my career in art and design has spanned almost 30 years.  As a designer for Walt Disney Imagineering, I designed, shops restaurants, and attractions, for Disney theme parks in Paris, Tokyo, California and Florida.  At the same time, I established myself as an accomplished Textile Artist, creating one of a kind garments and painted and printed home furnishings shown in various galleries in the U.S.,  as well as creating and producing my own line of wearable art for children.

In 2000, my interest  in digital media led me to co-found a studio creating digital art for art licensing.  In a span of 7 years, I worked with over 35 manufacturers of home furnishings accessories, fashion accessories, toys, stationary,  and poster prints, creating art for a wide variety of products, sold at Target, Stein Mart, and Bed Bath and Beyond, to name a few.
Both my love of travel, and the opportunities that I have been very fortunate to have had, to live and work in Paris, France and Hong Kong, China have brought me full circle as an artist back to my true passion of painting.  Working in watercolor and oils, I draw inspiration from the amazing people and cultures I have had the pleasure of experiencing and living among.

Whether visiting a temple in China or Japan, or many of the astounding museums in Paris and Europe, I have absorbed and studied the rich cultural heritage of these places that profoundly influence my work.

My work is in numerous private collections in the U.S. and abroad.

Originally from Indiana, I live and work in Windermere, Florida with my husband and daughter.

Lyudmila Tomova is an award-winning artist originally from Sofia, Bulgaria. At the age of 13, she formally began to study art at the five-year Special School of Fine Arts, and later - Illustration at the Sofia’s Academy of Fine Arts with an emphasis on Classical realism. In 1990 she was able to escape the communist regime in Bulgaria and immigrate to the U.S. She received a B.F.A. in 1994 in Illustration from the Fashion Institute of Technology in New York City with high honors. In her junior year in college, she was selected out of 3,000 candidates to work for Walt Disney Feature Animation Studios in Orlando. She's been a full time illustrator –children’s book and editorial, designer and a fine artist ever since, always pursuing her true passion –painting. She merges abstract and realistic elements together to create mood, movement and an impression of the world around or within us. The ever-changing states in man and nature are a constant source of inspiration for her work. A fleeting moment is captured and transformed by means of rules and omissions, acceptance and refusal, luring the viewer round and round in circles. The brush strokes are moving, pushing, emerging and overwhelming, but never still and quiet. Watercolor is the medium she’s been working with recently alla prima style adding spontaneity, boldness and elegance all at once.
Her work can be found in many public and private art collections and has been part of numerous exhibitions both, in the United States and abroad. She currently lives and works in Cary, North Carolina and is a member of the Village Art Circle Gallery in Cary.

I paint original, transparent watercolors on 200# archival paper. My original watercolor paintings are filled with color and life. I love the splashes and drips that are unique to watercolor. You will find me painting outdoors as often as possible -- typically near Atlanta, GA or Rochester, MN -- my two homes.

Oscar Rayneri, GWS, watercolor artist and instructor, lives in Dahlonega, Georgia where he is surrounded by inspiring subject matter. It is among the beauty of the mountains that he searches out waterfalls, flowers, rustic barns and historic structures to capture in his paintings. Oscar is a Signature Member of the Georgia Watercolor Society, which was earned through juried acceptance in GWS National and Members’ Exhibitions. His painting, “Sunbathing,” earned a Members’ Award in the 2013 GWS Members Exhibition, as well as a First Place Award at the Festival of Trees, judged by a High Museum curator. Additional awards include “Best of Show” at the Twelve Rivers Festival of the Arts for his painting above, “Goodbye Old Friends,” and several Honorable Mention Awards at the Quinlan Visual Arts Center in Gainesville, GA.

As a watercolor instructor, Oscar has taught at John C. Campbell Folk School in Brasstown, NC and at Arrowmont School for Arts and Crafts in Gatlinburg, TN. He also teaches classes in his studio. Additionally, Oscar conducts workshops in locations throughout the Southeast. Oscar also accepts commissions. Prices vary with size and complexity of subject matter.

Rayneri watercolors and drawings hang in many private collections, as well as corporate collections such as Procter & Gamble, Miller Brewing, and Merck Chemical. His works are also displayed in institutions like the University of Florida Shands Hospital, Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital in Albany, GA, and the Albany Museum of Art. Some of his commissions have included watercolors made into limited edition prints for the National Kidney Foundation to raise money for kidney research and the Thronateeska Heritage Foundation, in Albany, GA, to commemorate the Sesquicentennial (150 years) Anniversary with a collage of seven, significant historical buildings. Eight of Rayneri’s watercolors have been selected for the covers of Florida and Georgia magazines. His pencil drawings have also appeared in three poetry books.

Robbie Fitzpatrick

After one career in technical writing and website administration, which included developing an effective writing course for a major U.S. energy corporation, followed by a second career in teaching college English composition, which led to her Ph.D. in Educational Psychology, Robbie Fitzpatrick began shifting to the goal that had called her for years—becoming an artist. After penning award-winning poems, publishing articles, and writing books, she turned a long-time dream into reality and became a potter. The move to working on a potter’s wheel turned out to be only the first step into a career in the Arts. Since the entry of those first pencil drawings into a local art show, followed by the first of her watercolor paintings, she has rejoiced in the pleasure found in art.
In a short time, her watercolor work has already earned awards in regional, national, and international exhibitions, and she is looking forward to the learning and growth that will improve her art and the enjoyment of it. Robbie is now a member of the National Watercolor Society and the American Watercolor Society. She is also a Signature Member in the Watercolor Art Society of Houston, New Mexico Watercolor Society, Southern Watercolor Society, Southwestern Watercolor Society, Louisiana Watercolor Society, WFWS, Society of Watercolor Artists, and Philadelphia Watercolor Society. She has also been as accepted as a member into the Society of Animal Artists, the International Guild of Realism, and is a Signature Member in Women Artists of the West.

After having lived in Atlanta, Georgia, for most of my life, now I divide my time between an urban loft in downtown Athens, Georgia, and the Batesville community of Clarkesville, Georgia, in the magnificent North Georgia Mountains. This is the best of both the high energy of urban living and quiet contemplation of country life.

I have had the honor of studying watercolor painting with Jill Saur, Tony Couch, Frank Broadherst, Charles Reid, and oil painting in the style of the old masters with Chris di Domizio. Each of these well known artists has shared their special painting secrets with me, which I incorporate into my own style of painting.

Tracy Foutz-Hunt

Tracy Foutz-Hunt grew up in Roanoke, Virginia in the heart of the Blue Ridge mountains. She has been interested in drawing and painting since childhood. She paints in a realistic style, always striving to accomplish what great artists have accomplished in the past -- making everyday object and experiences look unusual. She's always looking for the odd, interesting angle, landscape, or even just part of an object for a subject for her paintings. As for mediums, she prefers watercolor because of its fresh quality, spontaneity, and unpredictability.
Tracy is a signature member of the Georgia Watercolor Association, founding member of the American Society of Railway Artists, has paintings in private collections across the country, and has had the honor of exhibiting in the Georgia Governor's Office at the Capital in Atlanta.
Tracy currently lives in Cairo, Georgia.
