After one career in technical writing and website administration, which included developing an effective writing course for a major U.S. energy corporation, followed by a second career in teaching college English composition, which led to her Ph.D. in Educational Psychology, Robbie Fitzpatrick began shifting to the goal that had called her for years—becoming an artist. After penning award-winning poems, publishing articles, and writing books, she turned a long-time dream into reality and became a potter. The move to working on a potter’s wheel turned out to be only the first step into a career in the Arts. Since the entry of those first pencil drawings into a local art show, followed by the first of her watercolor paintings, she has rejoiced in the pleasure found in art.
In a short time, her watercolor work has already earned awards in regional, national, and international exhibitions, and she is looking forward to the learning and growth that will improve her art and the enjoyment of it. Robbie is now a member of the National Watercolor Society and the American Watercolor Society. She is also a Signature Member in the Watercolor Art Society of Houston, New Mexico Watercolor Society, Southern Watercolor Society, Southwestern Watercolor Society, Louisiana Watercolor Society, WFWS, Society of Watercolor Artists, and Philadelphia Watercolor Society. She has also been as accepted as a member into the Society of Animal Artists, the International Guild of Realism, and is a Signature Member in Women Artists of the West.
