Instruction has been moved from the small classrooms of this venue, to the more open lobby and gallery space with high ceilings. A floor plan has been created to ensure that the artist tables and lecture area will allow people to socially distance themselves a minimum of 6 feet. In lieu of crowding around the artist during demos, three screens will provide a close up of demos for some, and stairs behind the artist will allow a socially distant perch for others.
Class size will be limited to 20 students in addition to GWS president and co-chairs. It is impossible to assess the impact, if any, of COVID for April 2021, but all artists should be prepared to wear masks and may be also required to have their temperature checked every morning with a temporal (not oral) thermometer. A hand-sanitizer station will be provided.
The Carrollton Center for the Arts currently requires students in classes to abide by the following measures. Whether these measures will still need to be in place for April 2021 cannot be known at this time, thus all registered participants should be prepared to abide by them.
- Participants will get the temperatures checked upon entrance into the class or any group event and must fill out a quick health questionnaire to make sure they do not exhibit any symptoms.
- Masks are required.
- Participants must also wash hands or use hand sanitizer at the beginning of class and often during class, especially for multiple hour sessions.
- Participants are required to be 6 feet apart for social distancing.
