Although I create many of my paintings in the studio, my favorite place to paint is outdoors. There I become one with nature, lost in the scenery and the painting process. This keeps my work fresh while providing new challenges, whether it is an inspiring location in a different country or dealing with the many elements of nature. On overseas trips, I oftentimes work in a small watercolor journal making notes in the margins and then create larger paintings back at my studio.
