Responsibilities of Demonstration Chair
- Find a demonstration artist of quality with previous teaching experience for demonstrating to members after quarterly board meetings. A speaker or event of interest to members may also be substituted. In the late spring a plein air experience, planned by the chair, substitutes for one of the demonstrations. Board members will help with suggested artists if requested.
- Contact education director at Binders Art Supplies & Frames to schedule dates for board meetings and demonstrations for at least 3 times a year.
- Coordinate with demonstration artist to meet his/her needs, times etc.
- Take snacks and drinks for attendees at demonstrations.
- Submit receipts to the treasurer for snacks and drinks.
- Notify members via eblast of upcoming event at least one week prior.
- Optionally, Oversee an Art Swap/Exchange at the meetings. (No money is involved.)
- Arrange for treasurer to issue a $150 check to pay for the demonstration artist.
- Interview the demonstration artist or show workshop instructor for the newsletter article, “Every Artist Has a Story”. Write the article quarterly and submit to the Newsletter Editor.
- Prepare reports for the board meetings and write requested articles for the newsletter.
- Attend quarterly board meetings and annual meeting.
- Serve as a member of the GWS Board.
