The Georgia Watercolor Society was formed in March 1975 to advance the art of watercolor painting while contributing to the cultural atmosphere and standards of the state of Georgia.
GWS holds two exhibitions per year: the Members Exhibition, open to GWS members in good standing, and the National Exhibition, open to any artist working in water media. Biennially, the Signature Member Exhibition is held and is open to GWS Signature Members only.
Quarterly newsletters inform members of shows and activities, as well as providing tips, techniques, and hints for improving the artists’ creative abilities. GWS sponsors workshops and demonstrations throughout the year.
